New Industrial Cleaners
BRB International developed two very efficient cleaners for the application of pipeline cleaning.
The first product is a structured version of Kirasol-340, named Kirasol-340 GEL. The product has been applied with various customers to remove heavy oil fractions like paraffin and tar. Due to the gel the contact time increases and makes the cleaner very effective. Next to this solids will not settle down, but stay entrapped in the gel, causing a smooth cleaning.
The second product is an environment friendly, non water based, very strong paraffin / polymer remover, called Kirasol-361. This product has been applied in a pipeline which was contaminated for 65 years with paraffin's. The layer thickness was between 5 and 15mm. The Kirasol-361 weakens the soil and the hard paraffin is dispersed. In combination with a good pigging technique this is the ultimate solution for paraffin and polymer contamination.

Kirasol®-318SC
Kirasol-318SC is an exceptionally effective heavy duty, low foam industrial cleaner and oil emulsifier that removes grime, oil and the contaminants they entrap.
Application
Kirasol-318SC effectively removes aromatic hydrocarbons, other non-polar solvents, gasoline and diesel fuels, cutting oils, various chemicals, vegetable oils, fuel oils, lubricants, machine oils and miscellaneous dirt and grime from equipment and surfaces.
Technology
Kirasol-318SC is aqueous based and mildly alkaline. It loosens and disperses entrapped contaminants, thereby preventing their redeposition and enabling them to be easily flushed or wiped away.
Kirasol®-340
Kirasol-340 is a cleaner that will safely remove heavy hydrocarbons, natural resins such as pitch, oil based inks, asphalts, adhesives, grime and many other contaminants that are difficult to remove even with petroleum based cleaners. Yet, Kirasol-340 does not contain chlorinated or hydrocarbon based solvents, alkalies or caustic substances of any kind.
Applications
Kirasol-340 is widely applied in the petrochemical industry for the removal of heavy hydrocarbon residues, waxes, paraffin, Asphalts, gums, tar etc.
The refinery operating a diesel hydro-treater unit was experiencing carryover fouling from a process upset that continually fouled the shell sides of several fixed-tube heat exchangers. The exchangers could not be pulled for maintenance, and in-place chemical cleaning application was sought to remedy a problem that might eventually require replacement of expensive equipment.
Results were excellent, allowing the equipment to be brought back on-line immediately. The resulting improvement in heat transfer meant that this refinery had the ability to continue operating without replacing the exchangers.
Kirasol®-360
Kirasol-360 is a high speed cleaner that will safely remove carbon products, vegetable oils, lubricants, synthetic coatings, polymeric binders, grime and many other contaminants that are difficult to remove even with petroleum cleaners. Yet Kirasol-360 does not contain chlorinated hydrocarbon-based solvents, alkalies or caustic substances of any kind.
Application
Kirasol-360 is designed for the removal of very tough organic deposits. Even some polymer residues can be removed.
A well known manufacturer of performance resins must periodically overhaul the pumps used in the manufacturing process. When the pumps are disassembled, their parts, which are commonly made of aluminium, are found to be coated in a dried-on mixture of different polymer residues.
Due to the incompatibility of caustic with aluminium, the manufacturer was unable to clean these parts and, as a result, they were discarded once they were removed. In order to reduce the high cost of replacement the parts were successfully treated with Kirasol-360. Both the acrylic as styrene butadiene rubber were removed.
